"We visited this afternoon to celebrate our son’s 24th birthday. We were made to feel very welcome straight away. We sat towards the rear of the restaurant and were looked after by Clare. She was very polite and cheerful despite being very busy. She was very attentive when taking our food and drinks orders and ensured everything was to our satisfaction. The food was outstanding. We were all very well-fed but still found room for desserts! It was also lovely to have a dessert with ‘happy birthday’ on for our son. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, and would hope to be served by Clare again."

"Miller & Carter Chigwell is a genuinely lovely steakhouse, and it made for a perfect place to celebrate a birthday. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm and inviting. The dining room is cosy without feeling cramped, and the fireplace with a real, live flame adds a wonderful sense of comfort — especially on a chilly evening. It’s the kind of atmosphere that encourages you to slow down, relax, and properly enjoy the occasion. The food was excellent from start to finish. As someone who has lived in England for 26 years, I was genuinely delighted to find something I rarely see on menus here: beef bone marrow served in the bone. It was beautifully presented, rich and indulgent, and exactly what I’d hoped for — a real highlight of the meal and a memorable “finally found it!” moment. The rest of our dishes were just as impressive: perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and served at a good pace so we never felt rushed. Service deserves a special mention. The staff were impeccable — polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. They checked in at just the right moments, gave helpful recommendations, and made sure our birthday celebration felt special without any fuss or forced “show”. That balance is rare, and it was truly appreciated. Practicalities are also a big win here. Parking is superb: a large car park with plenty of free spaces, easy access, and no stress. The location is straightforward to reach, the venue is easy to spot, and you won’t find yourself circling around or getting lost. All in all, a brilliant experience. Highly recommended, and we’ll absolutely be back."

"We celebrated my birthday at Miller & Carter in Chigwell, and it turned into one of the most emotional and beautiful evenings I’ve ever had. This dinner was part of a surprise organised by my daughter and close friends, and we were a large group (around 11–13 people). From the moment we arrived, everything was just right — the service was warm, attentive and efficient, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Despite our group size, nothing felt rushed or chaotic. The food was excellent, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cosy and homely, enhanced by the lovely Christmas decorations, which made the evening feel extra special and festive. I’ve been to Miller & Carter before for my anniversary and had a great experience then too, so this visit confirmed once again the consistently high standard, great food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere.
